Claudio Lasagni

SBAA Member of the Board


Claudio Lasagni: his professional career started in the automotive sector, followed by further qualifications as an aircraft ground engineer, commercial pilot, commercial &, management education and complimented by diverse international assignments.
Claudio Lasagni joined Air Service Basel in 1990 and leads the company as its CEO since a management buyout from former Farnair Technical Services AG since 2004. Together with a staff of 40 employees in the fields of fixed base operations (FBO), aircraft maintenance, and airworthiness management, Air Service Basel thereby becoming Basel’s premier full-service private jet FBO.

Helene Niedhart

SBAA Vice-Chairman/Treasurer


Helene Niedhart is the founder of CAT Aviation Ltd and leads the company as CEO and President since its inauguration in 1987. Her studies and professional career started in the banking business, she deepened and expanded her expertise during various assignments abroad, complimented by further studies at IGW at University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. In her 38 years as pilot Helene Niedhart has accumulated more than 11’000 flight hours. She also holds a TRI/TRE authorisation.
Today the company encompasses 70 employees and manages and operates 7 executive business jets. This fleet of modern, state of the art aircraft operates world-wide to the remotest corners of the globe.

  • Pascal Pache

    SBAA Chairman


    Pascal Pache is a high qualified aeronautical maintenance professional for more than thirty years.
    He holds diplomas in mechanics and in economy. Since 2006, he is deputy director of Dasnair SA, a Dassault Falcon 8X operator based in Geneva. He began his career in the Swiss Air Forces before joining a major airline for ten years then the national CAA for another decade as airworthiness inspector.
    Specialist in aviation safety, he is also quality manager in a VIP helicopter CAMO and safety and compliance officer in a Swiss pilot academy. He teaches human factors in maintenance and has a complete aircraft accident investigator's training.
    For leisure activities he practises VFR flight, old cars and old aircraft’s maintenance as well as music and theater.

    Walter Chetcuti

    SBAA Member of the Board


    Walter Chetcuti: his trading studies, jointly followed with a training and graduation as airline pilot, led him to start an aeronautical career. Flight instructor, then Managing Director of a major flight school in France, he joined Business Aviation in 1984 in Switzerland, before an interlude in Airline. Back to Business Aviation, he founded MSC Aviation in 2005, of which he is today the Chairman.
    He has an expertise degree in investigation and aircraft accidents, and totalize to date some 15’000 hours of flights.
